Description

The Red Stone Discus Fish is one of the most beautiful discuss fish you could select for your community aquarium. The fish features a bright red spotted color. The spots come in a similar pattern as those on the skin of a cheetah or leopard the only difference being that these ones are red. The Red Stone has fins that start near the head and end right back at the tail making this fish really look magnificent and impressive. When the fish is still young the spots are not yet significant and you could almost consider the color to be yellow-brown in color. As the fish matures the spots start to appear and become colored with a vivid red hue that glitters in the aquarium.

The Red Stone Discus Fish  is very hearty and grows well in moderatly soft water and a PH around 6.5. Water temperature should be kept around 86 degrees Fahrenheit. It is recommended you design the aquarium in such a way that it resembles the fish’s natural habitat. The fish is very agile producing some fast trajectories across the aquarium, something that really makes them a marvel to have in your home. The color of this fish is very photogenic. For those of you who like to take photos, take a snap shot of it with your digital camera and you will be surprised at the designs that pop out. It is a peaceful fish that adds color and personality to a lot of aquariums.

This little Discus is so active and very pretty although it has it's juvenile coloring. I can see hints of red and the black tipping on the fins. Very happy with it.

    So where we go...

Posted by Shaun Johnson on 14th May 2015

They are young so they mostly look like the picture with a few less "spots" which come with time. Do yourself a favor and follow Steve's instructions on acclimation exactly. 1-2 were disoriented at first and were laying to the side. However, I followed Steve's acclimation instructions exactly, and even sooner than expected, all the fish were completely fine. They are very curious and sort of follow me in their tank as I walk around the room. it's cool. I waited until night time to feed them, in which the gobbled up everything I put in the tank. Here we are 3 days later and they are doing really, really well. I am very happy with this purchase!

Love, love the color of this fish & it looks exactly the same in person as it does in the picture on the website. You will not go wrong ordering this color if red is what you want. Really stands out in my aquarium. Thinking about ordering another one & probably will!!! You can not go wrong with this breeder.
